12 more days...

I have done so many fun things in the past month and once again I do not feel 100% comfortable writing it down here since you know it all too well. I will highlight some majors and post some pics later.

First things first. I have embraced my life of no "real" job. I figure I have an entire life ahead of me to work and use my degrees. Plus I think I have been complaining to the wrong people (Mom, Dad, Kaci, Sam, Tera, ect.). They all have either full time jobs and or full time responsibilities. By embrace I do not mean giving up on finding a job, just trying a new outlook on my frusterating search. It still is crazy that at age 18, when you go to college you are supposed to know what you want to do when you grow up. I am 25 with two degrees (almost) and still dont know what i want to dow hen I grow up. HA!

AND I only have 12 more days till I graduate. I know my family is not looking forward to this since my dad keeps on telling me "didnt you already graduate once?" or "I already gave you a graduation gift, so...?" Basically I am not looking forward to sitting through 2 hours of name calling, BUT I worked my butt off for this degree so you better believe I am walking acoross that stage and shaking someones (dont know whos) hand and getting a fake diploma!! I have 10 tickets and so if you want to come let me know. Ha.

Today is mothers day! I loved it...maybe more than I should seing that I am not a mom, but I love this holiday. I woke all my sibling up early. Even Kaci, Brian and Bailey mad eit over and we made a delicious breakfast. I love a good meal. We gave my mom presents. Moms dont really need much (at least that is what they say), and I feel that a lot of parents gifts end up being selfish ones. For example a BBQ is used by the family but represents a great Fathers day gift. A beach chair is a great mothers day gift, but you better believe I will be taking it to the beach. A pedicure is a better gift, and darn right I will be sitting in the chair next to my mom, listening to the ladys talk bad about my feet, and getting my toes done. Anyways...she opened her presents and liked them. Even my splurge to godiva chocolates next to my work (another selfish gift). After church we made another delicious meal (turkey sliders and sweet potato fries). They are Bomb. I originally used a recipe Brian gave me for these turkey burgers and everytime I add some type of veggie or yummy treat iside the patty for some domesticness.

Also today at church my dad, keri, ty, tera and aaron all ditched second hour to hang out and talk and tell stories. It was soo much fun (even though it was bad). But the funny thing is that my mom was not there, on Mothers Day!! ha. We would do that...

Thats it for now.

Everyday is a Saturday...

As you all know I am done with my thesis, almost graduating (May 22), and am working at Rubys Diner. I have been trying to fill my time up with things that do not cost money, but am struggling! Any ideas? This is what my day consists of:

7:00am--> sleep walk to let Shorty outside to go potty (my parental duty)
9:00am--> wake up! turn on VH1 music videos and get back into bed
9:30am--> eat cereal and check facebook while in bed
11:00am--> get out of bed, call someone to talk
11:45am--> think about showering. Open up a cold DC!
12:00-3:00pm--> look for jobs and apply online. AND maybe some online shopping!
3:00pm--> check facebook (stalk people), eat something and think about going to gym
4:00pm--> sometimes I will work at this time so I will put my constume on and go!
4:00pm--> option 2 is going to the gym OR drinking DC!
4:30pm--> try and see if Bailey is coming over
5:30pm--> wait for Aaron to get off work
6:00pm--> wait for Aaron to get back from gym
6:30pm--> eat?
7:00pm--> if I am not at work maybe I will clean something (Anything!)
8:00pm--> look for jobs!
9:00pm--> go to Target before it closes (this is a daily thing)
12:00am--> lay in bed checking my junk mail, rejection letters from applications, check facebook and stalk family members blogs.
1-2:00am--> fall asleep!

So as you can see I everyday is a saturday! Even though for the past 6 years I have been working at Rubys and hating it, I am happy to have a job 3 days a week (thought Id never say that).

I am still having fun with my time off though. I have done so many fun things and have spent a lot of time.......shopping! Help me because since finishing school I have become a shopoholic and dietcokeaholic!!!!!! I thank Keri for the DC.

So if you have any hobbies (perferably paid), or fun free things to do let me know!

Here is a funny picture I found (another thing I do with my time off is go though old school papers and pictures).

Some Fun Things

So I am not too good at this blogging thing. I think it is because I know the second I post a blog I will contact the few people I know who read it (My sisters and Rania), then its done. They have read things about me that they already know....sooo...whateva it is fun so I shall continue my quest in the blog world.

I LOVE holidays. Or really, any reason to do something fun and fabulous. As most of you know I have been dating Aaron for a long time. This is nothing out of my ordniary dating pattern (although Aaron is a keeper). However, with him I decided I wanted to do something fun and celebrate our 1 year dating (I refuse to use the word anniversary because thats for married people). Anyways, we dont have a date where the year would be so I made it up! If I remember correctly it is March 11? I dont remember because I think I moved it up about 5 different times. I didn't really know what to expect or to do on this day that we made up, so I went and got him a gift and just figured if he did something for me it would be kind. I got him a I-pod because around Christmas his got stolen from my house. I honestly was not expecting anything back. I mean we go out all the time and he pays for it so I was just excited for a night out with my main squeeze...So we went to this yummy place to eat and then he suprised me with Circ de Sole Kooza tickets!!! It was so much fun. I have probably been talking about going to see the circus for months, so I am happy he got to shut me up by taking me. The night was overall super. I am excited to make up more "dating" holidays...Are there anymore? I am not sure, but there should be because I love a good celebration.

Here is just another picture that I have of a date night.

Another holiday I got to celebrate was my friend Ranias birthday! It was planned a while ago that we would go to Disneyland. If you did not know, you do not get in free on your birthday anymore (sadness). Two good things happened on this day. The first one is that my mind changed about "The happiest place on earth." I never have really liked it. To be honest, I just hated it. The lines, the heat, the rides, the crowd. But, on this day, there was none of this. The lines were short and we did everything we wanted from the hours 12-6. It was super! The second thing was that it was the first time Rania got to celebrate her B-day without her thesis in the way...She finished that beast of a paper, so it made the day more fun!

Finally, there was Easter! It was super FUN. There was tennis, food, volleyball, family, and engagements!!!!! The big event this easter was the earthquake....and my lil sis got engaged! CJ is rad and together they are a powerhouse on the tennis courts. The ring is beauiful and they are just the cutest.

Yup, I love holidays and fun things!

Still looking for a job! help!!!!!!

Vacation

As you all know I am no longer going to school to teach or take classes this semester. Sooo, this gives me a lot of time during the day to, well pretty much, NOTHING. I have been reading some books, applying for jobs, and cleaning. Recently I decided I want to go on vacation. I chose here......

But, since somewhere like this (Bora-Bora) costs money, I decided to take a well needed trip to my grandparents. It was a much needed vacation away from home. I think I may have gained 5 pounds while I was there (My grandma ALWAYS has trets out, but it was worth it. One night I got to go check out my Grandpas fraternity, it is the Shriners club. They do a bunch of neat stuff for hospitals and such. There was a dinner that I attended. I got to dress up with my grandparents and crash there party. It did not matter that I was the youngest one there by maybe 50 years, it was fun! Of corse I got a special introduction from my Grandpa to the entire audience.
Here are some pics from that night.

Are'nt they they cutest? My Granpa promised me a picture in "the hat" so when we got home he got all dressed up for me to take the picture. It was a much needed vacation filled with fun, relaxation, and food from my Grandparents.

Finally, on my way home I felt stressed out about money and school and stuff like that, so I went shopping. I know this may make no sense, but it is what I do. I came across some super deals. One of them is rain boots! I finally bought some and I think they are great. Everyone should get a pair! (especially since it may be 70 degrees outside). Whateva, I do what I want!

And here is a picture I found and think its great! A little reminder to my dad what a wonderful Fathers day present he got. Hershy loves you too pops!

Dance Moves

Last week Kaci and I were at the gym and we decided to take a class together. This is something that I always want to do, but due to my uncordination and graciousness, I only like taking them with people. The class we chose was not any regular class though...it was ZUMBA! Yes Zumba! I was uncertain when we first got in there. We were doing the cha-cha and even the "Jerk." Every single move in this class required hip movement, body rolls, and dance ability. BUT, I tried it and made it through only by watching Kaci and falling a second behind everyone else. I did not care though, you know? Because I was sweating and actually having fun. Plus, the next day I was sore in my ankles and elbows....I think that means I was not salsaing with my hips enough, but sore is good right?. All said and done, this class was awesome people watching (MC Hammer pants and hoop earings, and pretty fun.

On a similar note, I think I am going to start some serious training for a 1/2 marathon. I figure it will give me something else to do that does not require spending money. I think I can do it...Does anyone want to do with? I think it may be fun. I am a bit undecided on the issue.

And I have news.....I turned my thesis in! YAY! what does that mean, you all may be wondering since I have talked about this darn paper for a year now. After my committee members look at it for 2 weeks, I have to defend it. So on Mazrch 22, I am going to a meeting (the one I paid tuition for) and defending this beast of a paper for about 2 hours. From there we will see what happens. If I pass, then I pay someone to do things to it, fix some comments I know will come from someone I refuse to talk about on this happy blog, and I am done! Im excited, but at the same time it is so anticlimatic given the ups and downs of this process. It is ok if you skipped this paragraph, I think I bored myself writing it.

Hey look at this picture I found...isnt tyty handsome! This was "the" family picture day. If you remember it. Classic! haha

My Life Today

Today I am starting a blog. I feel like this is the way to fit in, so I'm doin it! I think it is funny, and since I am single it is going against the traditional "Im married now let me blog" kind of ways. Today I am also trying to finish my masters thesis, shop online for a perfect dress to wear, listening to the rain outside, and dreading going to work at the Diner tonight.

I think anyone who reads this know about me, so there is no needs for introductions. However, there are simple things that make me happy these days that I think are worth mentioning:

My Family:

They are the people who count you know? I am thankful to live in my parents guest house (Aka., my palace), and am not planning on moving out anytime soon.... sorry mom and dad!

My Shorty:

I love this tiny dog! Some say it is strange, I think it is awsome. She is a survivor of coyote attack, LBC upbringing, and neglect (while I am at school).

My Man friend--AAron :

He is nice and thoughtful. Thats all I have on him for now...No questions asked. Thanks!

And, of course my Grad school friends, Rania and Will. They are great, and we will all be finishing and graduating from our program in May. Grad school is.........fun? Only because they are with me.

Finally I must show you where i have been shopping lately. It is what I do to kill time (I have a lot of it these days). My favorate places are www.anthropologie.com and www.jcrew.com . Currently I am looking for a dress and a "chunky" necklace. YOu think that would be easy, but it is not!

Ok, so this may be my last or first blog. If I feel like I like it, need it, or want to blog I will. It is funny, because in order to fit in to this blog world I feel like you need kids, husband, or fun adventures. Currently none of those fit into my day-to-day living. But with an occasional picture post, or life update this may get exciting. So stay tuned my followers. HA!
